Contessa is a lesser known instrument maker from Italy that manufactured guitars, basses and banjos during the mid to late sixties. This one here is a full hollow body electric with a single coil pickup in the neck position, a trapeze tailpiece and a floating bridge.
It possesses a charming, 60s vintage vibe and sounds warm and sweet. We put it on the bench and gave it some TLC, yet it’s not without it’s quirks. But try finding another one. $399!
