1977 Gibson L6 Deluxe – Used
Here’s a 70s Gibson sleeper guitar that has so many awesome attributes. We love them!
- Gibson’s 1970s thin-bodied HH sleeper guitar was a collaboration with Bill Lawrence, a famous guitar maker.
- The “Super-Humbuckers” were of Bill Lawrence’s design and sound full and warm with a crisp clarity
- Neck pickup is original – Bridge pickup has been swapped for a Di’Marzio Super Distortion years ago
- All Maple Body and Set Maple Neck – Black finish
- Rosewood Fingerboard
- 24 Frets – 24.75″ scale length
- 3 way selector switch – master volume, master tone controls
- Original Gibson tuning machines
- Lots of artists played the different versions of the Gibson L6*
- Comes with non-original yet well-fitting tweed hardcase
from Wikipedia: “Around 3,500 L6-S Deluxe guitars were produced. The Deluxe had a set maple neck (some were actually Stamped “Deluxe” on the back of the Head-stock), with a rosewood fingerboard. Two “Tar Back” pickups (rating 6.4k Bridge and 5.8k in the neck) with non-standard 3 adjustment screws (one on each side and 1 in front or back) and completely unique pentagon (5 sided) Mounting Rings. Controls include a pickup selector, master volume, and tone control. Strung through the body, with a “String Plate” mounted on back instead of string ferrule holes.”
